While Dr. Rukavina is not currently accepting clients for in-person therapy at Brentwood Counselling Centre, she is ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS for online therapy sessions below.

Dr. Rukavina offers appointments on select days of the week and will accommodate your schedule as much as possible. Please note that evening and weekend appointments are not available. Note that Dr. Rukavina can only work with you if you are in the province of BC.

CANCELLATION POLICY & PROCEDURES: Cancellations within 5 days of your appointment must be made by phone or email, not through the online booking system. For appointments more than 5 days away, you can cancel online or by contacting Dr. Rukavina. No-shows or cancellations with less than 48 business hours’ notice will incur a late cancellation fee (full session fee). Cancellations must be made during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays).

CANCELLING COUPLES THERAPY APPOINTMENTS: For group appointments (couples therapy), each partner is responsible for canceling their own appointment. When canceling online, select the option to cancel for the group and verify all participants are canceled. Clients can also call or email to cancel the group appointment. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all partners are canceled to avoid the late cancellation fee.

Meet Dr. Rosemary Rukavina: EMDR and Relationship Psychologist in Burnaby & Vancouver

Dr. Rosemary Rukavina is a compassionate, experienced psychologist in BC who holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling. With nearly 15 years of clinical experience, she brings a well-rounded and trauma-informed perspective to her work, having supported individuals across a variety of settings—including corrections, child and youth mental health, and family services. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rukavina is also a dedicated educator, teaching graduate courses in clinical psychology and counselling to help shape the future of mental health care.

Dr. Rukavina specializes in EMDR therapy and offers both weekly sessions and EMDR intensives in Burnaby and across British Columbia. Her practice is rooted in creating safe, respectful, and trusting therapeutic relationships, where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal. She is passionate about helping people recover from trauma, manage anxiety and depression, navigate life transitions, and experience meaningful personal growth.

In addition to her trauma work, Dr. Rukavina is Level 3 trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy—an evidence-based approach to strengthening relationships. She helps couples rebuild trust, improve communication, navigate conflict, and deepen emotional and physical intimacy. Whether you’re healing after a betrayal, struggling with disconnection, or hoping to strengthen your partnership, she offers a compassionate, structured approach to relationship repair and growth.
