Dr. Rosemary Rukavina is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling. She has nearly 15 years of clinical experience across complex systems, including corrections, child and youth mental health, and family services. This background informs a careful, trauma-informed approach grounded in both clinical depth and real-world complexity. In addition to her practice, Dr. Rukavina teaches graduate-level courses in clinical psychology and counselling.

Dr. Rukavina specializes in EMDR therapy and offers both weekly therapy and EMDR intensives in Burnaby and virtually across British Columbia and the Yukon. She works most often with individuals navigating childhood/attachment trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, addiction, and significant life transitions.

She is also Level 3 trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and works with couples seeking repair after betrayal, chronic conflict, emotional disengagement, or repeated communication breakdowns. Her couples work is structured, evidence-based, and attentive to power dynamics, attachment injuries, and trauma histories that shape relational patterns. Dr. Rukavina’s style is thoughtful, direct, and relational. She values clarity, respect, and psychological safety, and works collaboratively with clients rather than from a prescriptive stance.
